Development Intern

The Youth Empowerment Mission, Inc. (YEM), a non-profit organization is seeking a diligent, highly motivated student to work in the development office of a youth-serving organization.  This is a rewarding and enriching opportunity to acquire hand-son experience in grant writing, fundraising, and nonprofit operations while contributing to the growth and development of an emerging organization.

Intern Roles and Responsibilities

The Development Intern will work onsite for two days per week for a total of ten hours, and offsite for an additional five hours per week.  The Intern will assist the Director of Development in the implementation of a comprehensive development strategy to raise funds for the organizations programs, services and administrative costs.  Duties will include

 

Qualifications

Ideal candidate is a second-year college student or above, with an interest in nonprofit management, youth services, or other related fields.  Strong writing, communications and organizational skills are a must.   The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently on a number of projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
